INTERNAL ALCHEMY:
CREATE SHIFTS
May 23 - 25, 2025 | Fri 5-9pm, Sat and Sun 11-7pm
As many of us seek the opportunity to discover wellness from a more preventative holistic approach, our ability to create internal shifts through meditation and breathwork has become more widely accepted. This weekend is a mindful + practical study of the power we hold inside of ourselves to cultivate change, to heal and to connect. The weekend will begin offering you space as a student and will end with you guiding these practices as a teacher.
This weekend workshop will offer insights into the anatomy and physiology of the body, specifically focusing on the nervous, endocrine and respiratory systems. Once a foundational knowledge of these systems is established we will learn the how and why behind 7 different types of meditation. Time will be spent exploring personal experience of each meditation, scripting meditations where applicable and guiding meditations to a group. There will be periods of silence and stillness for reflection.
Following the study of meditation we will review the respiratory system and how it relates to the nervous system as we jump into the power of breath work. We will practice, explore, discuss and lead 8 different types of breathwork. Students will be guided through a combination of different breathing exercises with focus on a specific outcome as an example of how to lead a breathing class OR a deeper understanding of how to incorporate breath work into your movement classes. At the conclusion of the weekend, all participants will be able to more confidently and independently lean into their own internal shifts AND to guide a group to do the same.
Plan to dress in comfortable clothes that work in movement, meditation and stillness. Students and teachers are welcome to attend this workshop. Instructors outside of the 300 hour teacher training, this workshop does qualify for 20 hours of continuing education through the Yoga Alliance. A manual will be provided. Please bring a journal and any props that you would like to use in mediation.
